Allison Christy is a Research Chemical Engineer and Program Coordinator at NASA’s Glenn Research Center, where she advances strategic partnerships, STEM initiatives, and interagency collaborations in aeronautics and space exploration. She holds a B.S. in Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Boise State University. Her scientific achievements include developing closed-loop recyclable plastics from ethyl cyanoacrylate (super glue chemistry, featured in Veritasium’s viral video with over 7 million views), synthesizing/ characterizing gallium arsenide nanowires during early NASA internships, and researching hydrolytic degradation of poly(lactic acid) matrices in sustainable flax/PLA composites for aerospace applications. At NASA Glenn, she contributes to award-winning outreach, workforce development, and polymeric composites work, earning recognition for excellence in cross-organizational coordination. Allison collaborates closely with Chemical Marketing & Economics (CME), NASA, and the American Chemical Society on national programming and the ACS Fall Meeting, exemplifying her dedication to uniting scientists, engineers, and educators in strengthening the nation’s STEM ecosystem.
