The specialty chemicals market size is set to touch USD 1.3 Trillion by 2024. Over the past decade, there has been a dramatic rise in interest in producing a wide range of specialty chemicals from various renewable feedstocks, including through processes such as fermentation, pyrolysis, chemical conversion, and extraction. This talk will review some of the activity underway where renewable feedstocks are used to produce specialty chemicals, as well as discuss the reasons for witnessing such a wide variety of approaches to make specialty chemicals.
