Prior to that, spent several years as an F-15C pilot in the U.S. Air Force. Graduated with MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management, M.A. in Organizational Management from George Washington University, and B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy.
