Pooja Jain is a Principal Research Analyst at S&P Global Commodity Insights in Houston, specializing in polymer markets. With a chemical engineering background, she has over 14 years of experience spanning refinery operations, petrochemical project management, and strategic consulting. Pooja began her career as a production engineer at an Indian national oil company, then transitioned into project management, overseeing several major petrochemical projects. After gaining some good experience in operations, she joined KPMG as an Energy & Natural Resources strategy consultant. Her diverse career offers a well-rounded perspective on both operational and strategic aspects of the commodity petrochemicals industry.

2025 CME NASA Symposium Abstract – Beyond the molecule: Chemistry to industry

In this talk we will discover how molecules lead to reactions and how these reactions are applied in industrial processes. We will discuss the development of chemistry into the large-scale production of base chemicals and intermediates. These processes underpin the manufacture of polymers that are used to create the products found in everything from fast moving consumer goods to agriculture and from construction to engineering applications.
