Christopher M. Bates received a B.S. degree in Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2007 and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from The University of Texas at Austin in 2013 under the guidance of C. Grant Willson. After a postdoc with the late Robert H. Grubbs at the California Institute of Technology, Christopher moved to the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2016. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Materials Department and the Associate Director of the Materials Research Laboratory, an NSF Materials Research Science and Engineering Center.
2024 CME NASA Symposium Abstract
Block copolymers as used as advanced materials in a range of demanding applications, from engineering plastics to reprocessable rubbers. This talk will discuss simple and efficient strategies to accelerate the study of block-copolymer materials using a readily accessible and widely available technique based on automated chromatography.
