Bio: Sunita Satyapal is the Director of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office within the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). Prior positions include Chief Engineer and coordination with the European Commission. Before joining DOE in 2003, she served at United Technologies. She also served as visiting scientist at Columbia University. She holds a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Columbia University and did her postdoctoral work in Applied and Engineering Physics at Cornell University. She has numerous publications, 10 patents issued, and a Presidential Rank Award.

2022-08 Abstract Title: U.S. Department of Energy’s Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Perspectives

Abstract Body: DOE’s Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) leads U.S. researchers and other partners in making transportation cleaner and more efficient through solutions that put electric drive vehicles on the road and replace oil with clean domestic fuels. The Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office (HFTO) focuses on chemistries and engineering research, development, and demonstration of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies across multiple sectors enabling innovation, a strong domestic economy, and a clean, equitable energy future.
