Received his Ph.D in Chemistry at Virginia Tech, and upon graduation joined Eastman Kodak and Eastman Chemical companies. After 8 years in the chemical and imaging industries, he joined the Department of Chemistry in 1999. His current interests include research and innovation in materials and processing with recent attention on additive manufacturing (3D printing). He previously served as the Associate Dean for Research in the College of Science and Director of the Macromolecules Innovation Institute at Virginia Tech. He currently serves as the Director of the Biodesign Center for Macromolecular Materials and Manufacturing at Arizona State University.
